  • Maintenance Tips for Artificial Grass on Concrete

Once your artificial grass is installed, you’ll want to keep it looking its best. Here are a few maintenance tips:

    • Regular Brushing: Brush the grass periodically to keep the fibres standing upright and remove any debris.
    • Rinse with Water: Occasionally rinse the grass with water to remove dirt or dust, especially after a dry spell.
    • Remove Stains Promptly: If any spills occur, clean them immediately with mild detergent and water.
  • Brush the Grass and Add Sand (Optional)

To give your artificial grass a natural look and improve its durability, you may want to brush the fibres and add kiln-dried sand.

    1. Brush the Fibres: Use a broom to brush the fibres against the grain. This helps them stand up and look more realistic.
    2. Spread Sand: If you choose to add sand, spread a thin layer of kiln-dried sand evenly across the surface. Brush it in with a broom to ensure it settles between the fibres.

    Common Mistakes to Avoid

For beginners, some common mistakes can happen during the installation process. Here’s how to avoid them:

    1. Skipping Surface Preparation: Failing to clean and level the concrete surface can lead to an uneven installation, with bumps and dips visible through the grass.
    2. Not Using Shockpad Underlay: Without an underlay, the artificial grass can feel hard underfoot and may not drain properly.
    3. Misaligned Seams: Be sure to align the fibres of adjoining pieces to avoid visible seams, which can ruin the overall look.
    4. Insufficient Adhesive: Using too little adhesive, especially around the edges, can cause the grass to lift or shift over time.

  • PROS & CONS OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS

This blog post will list the pros and cons of artificial grass and compare it with real grass to highlight the benefits of choosing artificial grass over real grass. Many people favour artificial grass because it’s more convenient for modern, busy lifestyles.

    Pros of Artificial Grass

Artificial Grass is a very smart and suitable solution for your lawn and has several benefits that make it more convenient for the owner.

    Weather Resistant

Artificial grass always looks aesthetically pleasing in all types of weather. This is because the weather does not have a direct impact on the appearance of the turf. It will continue to stay green, neat, tidy, and look good all year round, whatever the weather.

  • Mixed blade shapes

Our TuffLux 35mm Tauro Turf offers mixed blade shapes and widths. It includes Straight-shape blades, Spine-shape blades and Crinkle cut-shape blades. The mix of different grass blade shapes allows for TuffLux 35mm to create a more realistic appearance.

Thatch also plays a part in the way grass blade looks and perform. We offer two different types of thatch; short and long. Prima-Natural 35mm, Ultra-Natural 35mm, Viridian 35mm and Buff Leaf 35mm include a short thatch. Short thatch supports the blade at the bottom and further stops the back from being exposed. This allows the grass to perform well in high traffic areas and stay cool with the help of the infill silica sand.  TuffLux 35mm and Jumbuck 35mm include a tall thatch that is not as curly. The thatch is more visible from the top and supports the entire length of the straight grass blades.  This allows the grass to be bouncy and look more natural. Both style thatches are designed in house to benefit the grass blade shape.

  • What if I spill something on my grass?

If you do happen to spill something on your turf or notice a stain, you should clean it immediately. Cleaning the area as soon as possible will prevent the mess from setting and causing lasting damage. Pick up as much of the mess as you can and for any liquid, use a towel to soak it up. Then simply hose down the area to rinse it off. If you get something sticky like tree sap on the grass, the easiest way to get it off without spreading, is to freeze it and peel it off once it has hardened. This is the most efficient way which avoids harsh chemicals that could leave irreversible damage to your artificial lawn.

  • The Other Benefits of Fake Grass

Aside from safety and maintenance, turf comes in a variety of colors and can easily be placed around irregular shapes. If your climate only allows for certain types of–or no grass at all–going artificial gives you more options. And if you think fake grass is easy to tell apart from natural grass, think again! You’ll be surprised by how easily turf fools you and your guests.

Not only is artificial turf a good option around your pool, but you can easily finish off your landscape with stone or concrete walkways. Fake grass also complements decks and patios.

Perhaps the strongest argument for artificial grass around your pool is how long it lasts. Your home is an investment, one that includes your yard and pool. Fake grass can’t become sick and die like the real thing, and high traffic areas won’t succumb no matter how many human or furry feet walk across it. Surrounding your pool with turf could even increase your property value when it comes time to sell.

  • Is Artificial Grass Safe To Put Around My Pool?

For many people, a backyard with a pool where they can relax, let kids and pets play, and host guests is part and parcel with the American dream. Pool owners will quickly learn that these features require specific maintenance to be safe and beautiful and can impact landscaping decisions. For example, is real grass or artificial turf the better option around a pool?

Artificial Grass and Your Pool Safety

Some people may be unaware of one of the perks of artificial grass. It dries quickly, meaning water that is splashed, tracked, or dripped onto your lawn will evaporate quickly. This benefit isn’t just about convenience. If your pool is currently surrounded by natural grass, then you may have noticed how slippery it becomes when wet, so artificial turf can make the pool area safer for kids and pets.

An artificial lawn won’t require as much maintenance as a natural one, either. Of course, you don’t need to fertilize, water, weed, or mow fake grass.  All you need to do is sweep away any debris and rinse it off with a hose about once per month. Plus, a yard covered in artificial turf is more hygienic and won’t attract pests such as bugs or rodents or become muddy like the real thing. This decreases the chance of your lawn harboring bacteria that could make you and your family sick.
